Wyong Local Court

The Local Court is the court where all criminal matters involving adults commence. It is also the court that hears summary criminal matters, including traffic offences and Apprehended Domestic Violence Order applications. The Wyong Local Court sits as the Wyong Children’s Court for matters involving people under the age of 18. These are held in the same room as the Local Court, but anyone not connected with the case will be asked to leave when the court is sitting as the Children’s Court.

If you have a matter before the Wyong Local Court, make sure you arrive well before the time your matter is listed. You should be neatly and conservatively dressed and you should come prepared to be at court for several hours.

The doors to the court typically open at 9 am. It is ideal to arrive around this time, as the court starts getting very busy around 9:10-9:15 am. The court list commences at 9:30 am. Once you get through security, head straight ahead to a desk between the two courtrooms, manned by a court volunteer. The volunteers are very helpful in marking your name off and letting you know which courtroom to head to.
