Penrith Local Court
The Penrith Local Court and District Court are located in the same building at 64-72 Henry Street, Penrith in New South Wales. The courts are directly opposite a parking lot however parking is often scarce and the easiest way to travel to Penrith Court House is by train. It is a ten-minute walk from Penrith train station. There are also many buses operating from Penrith Westfields shopping centre and Penrith train station.
The Local & District Courts in Penrith are two of the busiest Courts in New South Wales and they operate from Monday to Friday 9.00 am to 4.30 pm. Penrith court also has a JP service within the courthouse.
The Local Court is the court where all criminal matters commence. It will hear cases about all kinds of criminal and traffic offenses, including Assaults, Domestic Violence, Drinking Driving, and Apprehended Domestic Violence Order applications.
If you have a matter in the Penrith Local or District Court, make sure you arrive at court well before the time your matter is listed to be heard. You should be neatly and conservatively dressed and you should come prepared to be at court for most of the day. If you are attending court for traffic offences for which the court may impose a licence disqualification period, do not drive to court.
The Local Court list is displayed on a board on Level one. You will be able to establish which courtroom your matter will be heard in by looking at those screens, or by asking at the court registry which is located on the ground floor. The District and Local Courts are both located on Level 1 and there is a facility available for solicitors to conference their client in person if the client is in custody.
