Moss Vale Local Court
The Moss Vale Local Court is located at 356 Argyle St (the Illawarra Highway), Moss Vale, opposite Leighton Gardens. The District Court of New South Wales does not sit at Moss Vale so serious indictable matters arising from the Moss Vale area are finalised in the District Court at Nowra or Goulburn.
The Local Court is the court where all criminal matters commence. It will hear cases about all kinds of criminal and traffic offenses, including Assaults, Domestic Violence, Drinking Driving, and Apprehended Domestic Violence Order applications. The Moss Vale Local Court sits as the Moss Vale Children’s Court for matters involving people under the age of 18. These are held in the same room as the Local Court, but are conducted in closed court, meaning that anyone not connected with the case will be asked to leave when the Children’s Court is sitting.
If you have a matter before Moss Vale Local Court, make sure you arrive well before the time your matter is listed. You should be neatly and conservatively dressed and you should come prepared to be at court for several hours. The court list is held by a registrar who will circulate outside the courtroom before court begins and ask people to check in.

Parking
There is parking on Argyle St but this is often full. However, there is a big car park at the railway station, about 500m north on the other side of the road. If you are attending court for traffic offences for which the court may impose a licence disqualification period, do not drive to court.
