Accredited Specialists who attend Fairfield
Fairfield Local Court
The Local Court is the court where all criminal matters commence. It will hear cases about all kinds of criminal and traffic offenses, including Assaults, Domestic Violence, Drinking Driving, and Apprehended Domestic Violence Order applications.
Fairfield Court is an AVL court, meaning that it has audio-visual link capacity allowing individuals to appear via AVL when appropriate.
Just around the corner from the Fairfield Local Court Fairfield Chase Shopping Centre, which is an ideal place to park if you are driving to court. Should you take public transport, the court is located approximately 350m from the Fairfield train station. If you are attending court for a traffic matter where you may have your licence disqualified, do not drive to court.
The Fairfield Local Court opens its doors at 9 am, and court begins each morning at 9:30 am. If you have a matter at court it is always best to arrive early, and dressed appropriately. Whilst your matter may be listed for a 9:30 am start, this does not mean your matter will necessarily be heard early as all matters listed for that day will typically have the same start time. You should expect to be there all day, as magistrates do not hear matters in any particular order and will typically hear short matters (such as requests for an adjournment) first, before proceeding on to longer matters such as sentencing hearings.
Taking the next step and contacting a lawyer can be scary. Our lawyers will make you feel comfortable so you can talk about your situation.
